This is a fantastic nautical inspired vintage 1980′s dress.
It's a bold, block colour red and has a a nod to 1950's style with it's pencil skirt shape, narrow nipped-in waist and hemline just below the knee.
The dress is long sleeved and the sleeves are carrot shaped - narrowing at the wrists. So the sleeves can be pushed up to the elbow (as shown in the main image) for an alternative look.
It has pleats on the shoulder seams, and thin shoulder pads which could be cut out if desired.
The dress has a white insert at the chest with two nautical style red bands sewn across the top. This insert can be unbuttoned and removed and the dress could be worn without it - as a plunging neckline. One of the four buttons on the inside which secures the white insert is broken in half. This is not noticeable from the outside and could easily be replaced.
The dress unbuttons all the way down the front with eight red and white raised buttons.
The back is ruched with elastic at the waist and can therefore fit various sizes.
