1970s Vintage Robyn Sue Dress - 6Y

A 1970s Robyn Sue children's prairie-style dress in a soft powder blue. Cut with a high scalloped lace-trim neckline and lace-trim ruffled bodice with a self-fabric sash tying at the back and button fastening.  Constructed from a lightweight polyester-cotton blend with a smooth, sheer-finish fabric, fully lined in cotton. 

In excellent vintage condition. Please note a small faint mark on the sleeve that is consistent with general age and does not detract from the garment.  

Prairie-style dresses drew inspiration from 19th-century pioneer dress, characterised by high ruffled collars, long sleeves, and tiered skirts. The style saw a strong resurgence in children's and women's fashion through the late 1970's and into the 1980's, often rendered in soft pastel cottons and blends with an emphasis on lace trim and romantic, old-fashioned detailing.
