This vintage 1980's Escada is a bold statement jacket cut in a plaid bouclé wool with a black, white, and yellow check woven throughout, overlaid with black velvet diamond appliqués running down the front and sleeves. The collarless neckline, front placket, cuffs, and hem are all trimmed in matching black velvet, with a front placket button closure fastened by domed black buttons. Structured shoulder pads give the jacket its signature 1980's silhouette, while two welt-style patch pockets sit at the hip, finished in the same velvet trim. Fully lined in black satin, with a gold curb-chain hanging loop at the collar. Made in Germany. In mint vintage condition.
Pairs beautifully with black tights and pointed-toe flats or ankle boots for a polished, 1980's power silhouette.
Escada was founded in 1976 by Margaretha and Wolfgang Ley, quickly establishing itself as a leading name in German luxury fashion known for bold pattern work, rich textures, and confident tailoring. Through the 1980's and 1990's, the brand became a favourite for statement outerwear like this piece, pairing directional prints with quality European construction.
