This Watermelon pink, made in USA 1960's Bobbie Brooks branded dress is in exceptional vintage condition.. It features a twee Peter Pan collar with intricate embroidered lace trim and delicate bow at the neckline, with matching embroidered lace trim down the side of each placket. The placket has all of it's original 1960's buttons. The waistband has piping and flattering darts and ruching for a sexy, wiggle skirt silhouette. There are also darts at the bust making for a sexy and flattering bodice. There is a metal Talon zip at centre back, displaying the provenance of this piece being early 1960's.
Bobbie Brooks was founded in 1939 as Ritmore Sportswear, Inc. by Maurice Saltzman and Max Reiter in a Clevelend, Ohio loft on West 6th Street. It became a leading women's apparel manufacturer in the 1960s and was officially renamed Bobbie Brooks, Inc. in 1953. The company specialized in stylish clothing for teenage and junior-miss girls.
