This vintage late 1990's blouse is an abstract piece of design beauty, by the luxury fashion house, Celine.
The amount of design detail on this blouse is mind blowing and beautiful. Reminiscent of the designs of the late 90's, there is a clean structure and line here, but also a slight grungy and unfinished aesthetic, with some reinforced, bonded hems that are raw edged. There is also a bonded fabric insert on the centre sleeve to provide form and structure.
The crisp cotton poplin and wide sleeves combined with the neat neckline and tunic style resemble design elements of Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake.
There is a concealed zip down the centre back, which lead to a very cleverly pointed, offset seam which joins to the tuxedo peplum skirt of the tunic, which is exquisite and drapes like an art form.
This is an exceptional piece of vintage fashion history and is a wearable archive piece for any collector's wardrobe.
There is a tiny spot near the right underarm, which is hardly noticeable and doesn't detract from the garment whatsoever. It is in great vintage condition.
Celine, formerly spelled Céline (as this piece is on the neck label) is a French luxury fashion house, founded in 1945 by fashion designer Céline Vipiana.
